Dr. Denise M. Woods of
Purdue University has finished work on a study of the effectiveness
of Pan-Pro's revolutionary
automated replenishment system. Dr. Woods believes that "effective
IT decisions are those in which value is
added to the organization as a whole." In conjunction with Tom Kozak,
president of Pan-Pro LLC, Dr. Woods presents the efforts of Beck
Manufacturing, Inc. to create value through supply chain automation.
Over a number of years, Beck experimented with various approaches for
eliminating costs and improving service in their supply channel. This
case study will examine why Pan-Pro's
VMI software
created significantly greater value for Beck, their channel partners,
and their end customers than any other approach.
